What is a Dental Implant Made of?

A dental implant is made of titanium as it has the unique ability to fuse to living bone. It is implanted under the gum to anchor to your jawbone so it acts just like a natural tooth root and is extremely strong. Dr. Barkhodari will then attach a prosthetic tooth to the implant like a screw. 

All-on-4 Restorations

NB Smile Design also offers “All-on-4” restorations. This advanced treatment technique uses four or more implants to replace all of the teeth on either your upper or lower jaw and can support a full bridge of 10-14 teeth. Dr. Barkhodari is able to perform the All-on-4 procedure right here in our dental office on Union Street in San Francisco!

Mini Dental Implants

Dr. Barkhodari also offers mini dental implants. These implants are about half the diameter of traditional implants and are used mainly to stabilize lower dentures. These implants can be placed in one appointment and be immediately used. The cost is 50-70% of standard dental implants.
